Dealer list on this unit was $1225.00 – and is now discontinued ! Note, this unit works fine as we were able to runtest the van before removal, however it is an ORIGINAL trumph adler unit, never replaced or rebuilt, so I will not warranty this unit in any way. The unit is as-is, but did come out of a running, crash damaged van.
As always your best bet is to match up the part numbers on the ecu you need to replace with the numbers on this one. A faulty ECU is one of the most common no start or random stalling & low power problems with these vans. These can also cause issues with erroneous check engine lights as well as emission control malfunctions, random cut-outs (but usually will re-start moments later, no injector pulse (causes non running), lean running (causes overheating) & cold or hot start problems. If your car does not have these issues but you intend to keep it a while, I recommend our customers keep an extra ECU in the trunk. These classic vanagon units now have to be special ordered from most dealers new for big $$ (often times over $1000!), they are only getting harder to find, and you can never find the right one when you need one. Even now finding a good one second hand is getting to be quite difficult as these cars get older.
