As always your best bet is to match up the part numbers on the ecu you need to replace with the numbers on this one. This unit offers a 30day functionality warranty. A faulty ECU isone of the most common no start or random stalling & low power problems with these vans. These can also cause issues with erroneous check engine lights as well as emission control malfunctions, random cut-outs (but usually will re-start moments later, no injector pulse (causes non running), lean running (causes overheating) & cold or hot start problems. Ifyour car does not have these issues but you intend to keep it a while,I recommend our customers keep an extra ECU in the trunk. These classic vanagon unitsnow have to be special ordered from most dealers new for big $$ (oftentimes over $1000!), they are only getting harder to find, and you can never find the right one when you need one. Evennow finding a good one second hand is getting to be quite difficult asthese cars get older.
